Emily Box was presented with the Weissman Scholarship
as she completed her MBA coursework and prepared to embark
on a three-month internship in Tokyo with Fleishman-Hillard
Japan Inc., one of the largest public relations companies
in the world.
Norman Weissman (1925 – 1999) was a leader in international
public relations. He
spent much of his time advising and mentoring young professionals
throughout the years, and his generous spirit lives on through
his scholarship fund. He was a member of the Rotary
Club of New York, a group of international business
men and women dedicated to making a contribution
to their community and the world, and to enhancing cross-cultural
understanding. The grant was made possible by the New York
Rotary Foundation.
Ms. Box received the award by maintaining an outstanding
grade point average and demonstrating leadership potential
in the field of public relations. She hopes
to work in Tokyo for several years before returning home
to continue her career in international public relations.
